NDLEA Hosts Courtesy Visit from Chief of Defence Space Administration

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), played host to a high-profile courtesy visit from Air Vice Marshal Lanre Ibrahim Oluwatoyin, Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), at its headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The visit brought together top officials from both agencies, highlighting the growing importance of inter-agency collaboration in Nigeria’s fight against narcotics and national security.

Significance of the visit

The meeting may among others issues, be aimed to strengthen partnerships between the NDLEA and the Defence Space Administration, exploring ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as intelligence sharing and joint operations.

The agency has made significant strides in recent months, including the arrest of 14,480 suspected drug traffickers and the seizure of 2.4 million kilograms of illicit drugs between January and October 2024.

The NDLEA recently relocated to a new headquarters in Abuja’s Jahi area, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s development and expansion.

The NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa, has been instrumental in the agency’s recent successes. A retired Brigadier General with a storied military career, Marwa has held various leadership positions, including Governor of Lagos State and Borno State. He was appointed NDLEA Chairman in January 2021.
