TCN Kano Region Hosts NISO Managing Director, Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Power Sector Collaboration

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) following a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello.

The visit, held at the TCN Kano Regional Office, was aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation and enhancing operational synergy in support of Nigeria’s ongoing electricity market reforms and efforts to improve grid reliability.

Welcoming the NISO Managing Director, the General Manager (Transmission), TCN Kano Region, Engr. M. K. Bello, expressed appreciation for the longstanding cordial relationship between both organisations.

He commended NISO for its consistent support, noting that the agency had always responded promptly whenever TCN required operational assistance.
According to him, the strong partnership between the two organisations has continued to contribute positively to the stability of the nation’s electricity transmission system.

Engr. Bello assured NISO of TCN Kano Region’s continued commitment to sustaining the collaboration and providing the necessary operational support to ensure the successful implementation of Nigeria’s electricity market reforms.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, thanked the management of TCN Kano Region for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO, describing the gesture as a major milestone and evidence of the healthy working relationship between both organisations.

He reiterated NISO’s commitment to maintaining close collaboration with TCN in the collective effort to build a stable, reliable and efficient national electricity grid.

The NISO Managing Director stressed that effective coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure remains vital to ensuring grid security, operational stability and improved electricity supply across the country.

The courtesy visit further underscored the shared resolve of both organisations to work together in advancing Nigeria’s power sector reforms and delivering more reliable electricity to consumers nationwide.
