SUSPECTED BANDITS KIDNAP 17 NURSING MOTHERS IN KATSINA STATE, NIGERIA

SUSPECTED bandits have kidnapped seventeen (17) nursing mothers from Faskari local government area of Katsina State.

The bandits intercepted the women on their way to a wedding in nearby village.

According to a source “The incident happened when the women were on their way from Unguwar Rimi Village to Garin Maigora town to attend a wedding ceremony. All the women were carrying babies as at the time they were abducted”.

Though, the source revealed that one woman and her baby were released by the bandits due to health condition of the baby.

Also, a resident of the area further disclosed that the security situation in the area had deteriorated, adding that all the villages in the western part of Faskari town were deserted due to the activities of the bandits, and that only a village call Bilbis town that is a bit safe.

He stressed that if action is not taken, in the next few weeks to come, Faskari town will also be vulnerable.

Effort to reach the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah by our correspondent to commend on the development as at the time of file in this report prove abortive.
