SUCCEEDING UNDER POOR OR BAD LEADERSHIP- PART 1

Succeeding under poor or bad leadership is not a chicken change. A poor leader is one who performs far below expectations of majority. Poor leaders are everywhere – scattered here and there. Quite unfortunate they are in our institutions, corporate bodies and political offices.

Poor leadership recruitment, development and sustainable process contribute to the feat. But succeeding under bad leaders placed over you require serious work on your side else you will be frustrated, wearied and given up on your journey to your destiny. Poor/bad leadership over you is like bad fate, punishment or curse, but you must rise above it, and to be submerged or keep silent on it.

As a leader, I have had career working with terrible leaders placed over me. You can class them the terrible especially as poor or bad, not good.
On the negative side, I have seen and worked with leaders that are;

* Power-drunk
* visionless and directionless
* Indecisive and inconsistent
* Insecure and safe-playing
* Attitude and character bizarre
* Hated and bully type
* Indiscipline
* Perhaps, add yours …

The solution to dealing with poor/bad leaders, as I listed above is ASKING the questions related to working under poor leaders, and answering them, after all, ” _good leaders ask great questions_ “, says John C Maxwell.

My bothering questions, perhaps yours too, are;

– How can I succeed under a leader who is DIFFICULT to work with? Hardly can s/he carry you along, or can you effortlessly follow him/her. Unperturbed!

– How can I succeed under a leader who DISLIKES/HATES my face [me]? If he has power/convenience, he will sack you, but he won’t.

– How can I succeed under a leader who is VISIONLESS and DIRECTIONLESS? Confused, frustrated and disordered.

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who is INDECISIVE and INCONSISTENT?

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who is INSECURE and SAFE-PLAYING?

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who has ATTITUDE and CHARACTER defects?

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who HATES and BULLIES people? Mr Bully.

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who is INDISCIPLINED?

– How can I succeed under a difficult leader who is INCOMPETENT and lack leadership skills?

Wow! There are ways. Perhaps in the next few days, I exegete them.
