Nigerian Air Force Announces Aerial Display Rehearsals Ahead of 61st Anniversary Celebration

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF),has announced that aerial display rehearsals are currently underway in Abuja and Lagos in preparation for its 61st anniversary celebration scheduled for May 23, 2025. These rehearsals aim to enhance the spectacle of the grand finale while demonstrating the NAF’s professionalism and operational capabilities.

The celebration will feature a spectacular aerial display of fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters showcasing the NAF’s operational readiness and precision flying.

– *Rehearsal Schedule*: Rehearsals began on May 8 and are expected to conclude on May 17, ensuring a seamless performance.

The NAF has reassured residents that the rehearsals are carefully planned and executed with strict adherence to safety standards, and they should not panic but go about their normal activities.

The event will also feature awards, parades, exhibitions, and community outreach, with military leaders, government officials, and foreign defence attachés in attendance.

According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the aerial manoeuvres are designed to enhance the spectacle of the celebration’s grand finale and to demonstrate the professionalism and operational capabilities of the NAF.

Residents are kindly advised not to panic but to go about their normal activities, as the rehearsals are carefully planned and executed with strict adherence to safety standards.

The rehearsals and final aerial display are vital components of maintaining combat readiness, providing personnel with the opportunity to rehearse coordinated air manoeuvres in controlled conditions.
