NICCI TO PARTNER MINISTRY OF YOUTH

Investment that brings about youth empowerment Indeed can translate to economic growth but we at the ministry of youth, we look beyond job creation. We are highly concerned about creation of equity to Nigerian youth

The Minister of Youth Development Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim made this known while hosting the delegations from the Nigeria Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), yesterday in her office.

Dr Bio while appreciating the team from NICCI made known that it is the Ministry’s priority to empower young people

She added that as much as the ministry want job creation for the population she represents, there is need to go beyond job creation and create equity to Nigerian youth

” If NICCI can highly protect the interests of Nigeria youth, then my ministry will definitely work with you.”

“We look forward to partnering with you provided our conditions are meant” she added

Earlier briefing the Minister on Purpose of visit, the Permanent Secretary Dr Dunoma Umar Ahmed noted that the agency has come to inform the ministry about their activities as well as seek partnership particularly in area of Agriculture, health sector, renewable energy etc

Earlier speaking, the President of the chamber, Ishmael Balogun, said the purpose of the visit was to see how NICCI can partner the ministry of youth to increase trade balance between Nigeria and Indonesia which will in return create job for the predominantly youthful population.

“Areas of focus include but not limited to manufacturing, renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure development, health, agriculture, transportation, mining, digital economy and much more,” Balogun said.

According to him, presently there are Nigerian states collaboration with the Indonesian Government which would help explore the myriad of investment opportunities in the states across key sectors such as energy, power and transport

Balogun who seeks partnership with the ministry of youth development added that accelerating action together in building Nigeria’s youthful human capital is an urgent priority.
