Tein S.T Jack-rich , has formally declared his interest to contest the Rivers West Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, urging the party leadership to prioritize and reward loyal founding members.

The prominent Chieftain of All Progressive Congress(APC) made the statement on Wednesday at the Treasure suites conference, after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms, stating that his decision is rooted in years of dedication and consistent support for the party since it’s early days.

“I have been a member of this party since 2014, when many people did not believe in it. I stood firm in 2019, remain active in 2023, and I am here again. “he said .

Jack-rich emphasized the need for balance between welcoming new members and protecting the interest of long-serving party loyalists. According to him, APC must not overlook those who played key roles in building its structure.
” It is important to recognize and legacy members who have been there from inception. You must hold your biological child dearly, even while adopting new one,” he stated.
Jack-rich also raised concerns about what he described as the growing influence of new entrants attempting to sideline established members.
” Today , we see people coming in aggressively and trying to push us out. We will not accept it.
Growth is good for democracy, but it must not come at the expense of those who built the foundation, “he warned.

Expressing confidence ahead of the party primaries, he pledged to work diligently to secure both the ticket and eventual victory at the polls.
” I have submitted my forms, and I will work hard through the primaries. I strongly believe I will win the senate seat. Rivers West will be great again,” he added.

Highlighting his credentials, Jack-rich pointed to over 28 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, which he believes uniquely positions him to represent the district effectively.
” I bring knowledge and experience. River seats needs a senator who understands the oil sectors and can support national policies with practical ideas, while being a strong voice for our people,” he said.

Describing the district as “the oil bank of Nigeria,” he stressed the importance of strong legislative representation to unlock its economic potential.

The 2027 senatorial race in Rivers state is expected to be highly competitive, with political stakeholders already positioning ahead of party primaries. Meanwhile , a supporter, Adolphus Mike Ejah, praised Jackson’s contributions to the oil sector, claiming his impact has elevated Rivers state’s profile globally and earned him strong backing from industry stakeholders.
