The Federal Capital Territory chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (FCT SWAN) is mourning the loss of its former Chairman, Ndamadu Sule, who passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 74.
Sule, a respected journalist and union leader, was known for his exceptional leadership, humility, and commitment to the welfare of members. During his tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council from 1991 to 1995, he played a historic role in securing the NUJ FCT land and stabilizing the association.
FCT SWAN Chairman, Kelechi Onwudiwe, described Sule as “a rare leader whose footprints will remain indelible,” adding that his passing has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill. Sule is fondly remembered for his pioneering welfare schemes, calm personality, and high professional reputation.
The association has expressed its condolences to Sule’s family, colleagues, and friends, reassuring that his legacy will remain a reference point for service, integrity, and leadership.
