Smooth Transition at Gombe State INEC Office

A handover/taking-over ceremony was held at the Gombe State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), office, marking a seamless transition between the outgoing Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alh Ibrahim Umar, and the newly appointed REC, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris.
The ceremony ensured a smooth handover of responsibilities, with the outgoing REC providing insights into the office’s operations and challenges.
Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris emphasized the importance of professionalism, excellence, dedication, integrity, and teamwork in the Commission’s mandate.
The new REC encouraged staff to approach him with novel ideas and work cohesively to ensure credible electoral processes.

The ceremony included the formal signing of handover notes, detailing the office’s operations, assets, and ongoing responsibilities. Afterwards, the new REC held a meeting to discuss immediate priorities and operational updates.
He convened a session with general staff, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing his commitment to an inclusive work environment.
A meeting with Electoral Officers is scheduled for next week to further discuss operational matters.
