NSCDC Nasarawa State Command Organizes Second Quarter Strategic Meeting With Association of Licensed Private Guard Companies

The Department of Private Guard Companies (PGCs), of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, today convened its second quarter strategic meeting with the _Association of Licensed Private Guard Companies of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter.

The meeting was held at the State Command Headquarters in Lafia.

The strategic session brought together key stakeholders in the private security sector to deliberate on enhanced collaboration, compliance with regulatory standards, operational efficiency, and intelligence sharing to bolster security architecture across the state.

In his welcome address, the State Commandant of NSCDC,  Commandant Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa, represented by the Departmental Head of Private Guard Company (PGC) Deputy Commandant Akalawu Florence emphasized the vital role private security companies play in supporting national security efforts. She urged all licensed operators to uphold professionalism, maintain discipline among operatives, and strictly adhere to NSCDC guidelines governing private security practice.

“This meeting is part of our continuous engagement and regulatory oversight to ensure that Private Guard Companies operate within the framework of the law and contribute effectively to community safety,” *DCC Akalawu* stated.

She highlighted key areas of discussion including capacity building, intelligence synergy, uniformity in standards, and the importance of regular vetting and training of guards. She reiterated the Corps’ commitment to sanitizing the industry and eliminating quack operations.

Similarly, the Head of Training and Manpower Development NSCDC Nasarawa State Command, Deputy Commandant, Dogo Cyrus reiterated the importance of training and retraining of operatives who are the mirror of the organization.

The Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Guard Companies in Nasarawa State, Mr. Reuben Joseph Attah commended the NSCDC for its proactive leadership and pledged the association’s unwavering support in ensuring compliance, professionalism, and contribution to the security and economic development of Nasarawa State.

The strategic meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both the NSCDC and the Private Security operators to deepen cooperation, enhance regulatory compliance, and ensure that the private security industry continues to play a complementary role in the broader security ecosystem of Nigeria.
