NNPC Uncovers Sabotage Attempt, Insists on Reforms

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has uncovered a coordinated sabotage campaign aimed at discrediting its leadership and derailing its ongoing transformation into a corruption-free and performance-driven energy company. According to the company’s management, a syndicate of known and faceless actors, both within and outside the organization, is spreading lies and misinformation to undermine the company’s reforms.

According to a press release made available to News Dot Africa, the saboteurs are planting scandalous and fabricated reports to distract leadership, mislead the public, and undermine the commitment of dedicated workforce and reform-minded Nigerians.

“The release noted that these efforts are calculated attempts by individuals who feel threatened by reform, transparency, accountability, and change.

Despite the sabotage attempts, NNPC Ltd. said the company remains undeterred and committed to its transformation agenda.

However, the company expects a surge of defamatory content in the coming days and weeks but assures that no amount of sabotage will stop its reforms.

NNPC urges its dedicated staff, stakeholders, and patriotic Nigerians to stay focused, ignore the noise, and not be discouraged.

The development comes amid a major overhaul of the NNPC, led by new leadership under Bayo Ojulari, who took over from Mele Kyari in April 2025.

The company is working to transform into a transparent, corruption-free, and performance-driven energy institution, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s mandate.
