The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has completed the reconstruction of three collapsed 132kV transmission towers and restored electricity transmission along the Karu–Keffi–Akwanga line.
The company disclosed that the restoration was completed at 5:31 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, following the successful reconstruction of towers T78, T79 and T80.
According to TCN, the restored transmission line serves the 132/33kV Keffi and Akwanga Transmission Stations, reinstating the affected transmission pathway.
The three towers collapsed on October 7, 2026, following heavy rainfall and strong winds, disrupting the transmission infrastructure along the route.
TCN said its maintenance team worked diligently to reconstruct the damaged towers and restore the line to service.
The successful completion of the project underscores the company’s efforts to maintain and strengthen Nigeria’s national transmission infrastructure for improved electricity transmission.
TCN reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the reliable and efficient transmission of bulk electricity across the country through the maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading of its transmission facilities.
