Nigerian Air Force Reaffirms Commitment to Defending Airspace

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF), unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s airspace and protecting lives and property. Speaking during the Second Quarter Route March in Abuja on June 4, 2025, the CAS emphasized that the protection of all Nigerians is the NAF’s highest priority.

The CAS assured that the NAF will continue to defend every inch of the nation’s airspace and collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.

The CAS issued a stern warning to enemies of the nation, including insurgents, terrorists, and bandits, stating that there will be no hiding place for those who threaten the peace and stability of Nigeria.

The emphasized the importance of physical fitness in the NAF, directing that all personnel must undergo physical fitness tests and obtain certificates to be considered for promotion.

The CAS disclosed plans to construct modern sporting facilities across several NAF bases and procure advanced gym equipment to enhance operational readiness.


Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar then drew parallels between the route march and the NAF’s broader mission, noting that the journey toward national security and lasting peace requires discipline, focus, and resilience. He emphasized that the NAF remains vigilant, capable, and fully prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty.
