NFYO Set To Celebrate Nigeria Virtuous Women In Commemoration of 2023 International Women’s Day

The Nigeria Female Youth organization (NFYO) will hold her Women’s Day progamme with the theme “Girl Child Empowerment… A Pathway To National Development ”

The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00am at National Human Rights Commission, Maitama Abuja.

According to the president of the organization,Princess Mimi Peters, she said the idea of the program is to encourage the virtuous Nigeria women to continue doing the good things they are doing in humanitarian services and keep up been role models for others to imitate

“We are out to encourage those women who dedicate their lives and are giving their all to make the world a better place by alleviating human suffering especially as it affects the girl child.”

The likes of DG of WTO Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Late Prof Dora Akunyili amongst others have done greatly, so women should be encouraged to come out and complement the work of the men instead of seeing them as belonging to the kitchen or other room. Women are even doing better than the men, she said

Mimi added that International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day but the whole of March is used in celebrating the historical, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also observed in support of taking action against gender inequality around the world.

Given the strategic importance of the theme for this year, she said when we empower women, we increase the skilled workforce, local economies are strengthened, businesses do better, and families rise out of poverty and create generational wealth and self-sufficiency.When we invest in women, we all benefit,she added

She further called on well meaning Nigerians to support the girl child education and say no to violence against women

The guest Speaker Princess Gloria Akobundu was carefully selected in recognition of her wealth of experience in various sectors regarding the girl child. The event will also reflect the world of work which is changing, and with significant implications for women.
