NCC Hosts Stakeholder Engagement Forum on Regulatory Impact Assessment

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), recently hosted a hybrid Stakeholder Engagement Forum to present the findings of its Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) exercise. The RIA was conducted on eight subsidiary legislations governing the Nigerian communications sector.
Speaking the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), emphasized the importance of placing consumers at the center of its regulatory framework, focusing on consumer satisfaction and Quality of Experience (QoE).
The assessment aimed to evaluate the adaptability and agility of subsidiary legislations in promoting fair competition, reducing barriers to market entrance, and facilitating efficient resource utilization.
The NCC seeks to create a regulatory environment that supports innovation, fairness, and transparency, aligning with the dynamic nature of the industry.
Objectives of the Stakeholder Engagement Forum include providing a platform for stakeholders to offer feedback and recommendations on the RIA report, helping refine the NCC’s policies and regulatory approach.
Engagement aimed to identify areas for improvement and update relevant subsidiary legislation to better align with current realities and future aspirations.
The NCC says it will consider the feedback and recommendations from stakeholders to inform its regulatory review and reform agenda, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of its subsidiary legislations.
