MINISTER OF POWER INAUGURATES PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENTIAL POWER INITIATIVE

The Honourable Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu FNSE has charged the newly inaugurated Project Management Office (PMO) under the Presidential Power Initiative to be up and doing in the discharge of their duties.

Abubakar informed the gathering while inaugurating the Project Management Office (PMO) that members were carefully selected based on competence and technical background. He disclosed this Tuesday 15th February, 2022 at the Conference Room of the Federal Ministry of Power, Maitama, and Abuja.

Chronicling the Presidential Power Initiative project as the initiative of President Muhammadu Buhari which culminated to a signed agreement with a German technology Firm, Siemens under the Formal German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, Abubakar said the projects which is to provide power to the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry are in three phases of 7000MW, 11000MW and 25000MW under the federal government initiative to supply reliable power to the National grid.

While explaining the composition of the Members of the PMO, the Minister said 3(Three) independent experts have been selected to be supported by nominees of statutory Agencies whose competence have been proving to run the project and assured them of his support as the chairman of the technical and regulatory Board of the Presidential Power Initiative.

Responding the Head the PMO Engr. Musterfa B. Shehu thanked the Minister of Power for bestowing trust in him and the members of the PMO to serve the country. He assured that they will work as a team to achieve the mandate of taking the power sector to greater height.
