LAGOS/ RAILWAY PROJECT: Amaechi, Lai, others embark on first Inspection since Covid-19 pandemic

The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation Board, Engr Ibrahim Alhassan Musa, the MD NRC Engr Fidet Okhiria, Executive Secretary, NSC- Barr Hassan Bello, the MD NPA- Ms Hadiza Usman and others were on inspection tour on Saturday, August 15, 2020 to ascertain the level of work done at the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge Rail line.
The Lagos- Ibadan rail project which had been earmarked for completion early this year has been hindered by Covid-19 which affected many operations in the globe.
This is the first inspection the Transportation Minister will embark on the project since the covid- 19 pandemic which also marred the monthly steering committee meeting and monitoring of the railway project.
Work is in progress on all the stations from Ebute Metta to Ibadan were the Rt. Honourable Amaechi has advised that small stations could be completed for operations.
