The reward of good work is more work, they say, no wonder for most of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Appointees, it has been non stop engagement since the Administration.

On Friday 2nd of October, the Federation Of Mbaise Students presented a rare Award to one of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Special Advisers six months into service. Presenting the Award, they explained that giving out this Award is not flippant at all. The decision to do so, had to be thorough, as the recipient must demonstrate full commitment, passion and devotion to Youth Engagement.

The presenters of this award, went further to state that Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, who wes the Award recipient, has not only shown capacity since being appointed but she has also shown tenacity, simplicity and sagacity. She has used her Office and people in Diaspora to pay attention to some young peoples needs.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs received the award in person at Mbaise with utmost pride, stating that  as a black woman in the UK I had to become active politically, to galvanize young people who can drive change and create a world where there is equal opportunities for all. “My interest started to grow over global issues and since then the journey has been non stop. I’m more committed than ever to ensure a paradigm shift,” she explained.

In Nigeria it is rare to find a young person in a position of power and even rarer to find a woman in such a position. So it’s fair to say Imo is trendsetting. In deed Imolites predict many more accolades to come.
