This weekend saw Watford being relegated, Leeds United slipping into the relegation zone and Manchester City gaining grounds in the title race.

All square at Anfield

It was a game that had a lot of bearings on Premier League aspirations and Champions League hopes.
Tottenham Hotspur travelled to face Liverpool FC at Anfield and it was Spurs who drew first blood through Son Heung Min taking his tally to 20 goals this season in the league before Luiz Diaz restored parity.
Son’s goal means he has become only the second Tottenham player besides Gareth Bale to score 20 league goals without penalties.

City capitalize on on Liverpool slip

After a disappointing Liverpool slip

After a disappointing exit from the Champions League, the fans expected a response from Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and the Cityzens put in a five star performance against Newcastle United. Raheem Sterling got a brace with Rodri, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte getting the others.
The win saw City go three points clear of Liverpool and Rodri hitting a rich vein of scoring form with his third consecutive Premier League goal.
Result: Manchester City 5-0 Newcastle United

Chelsea held by Wolves

Football is a game of two halves and this theory was proven right at Stamford on Saturday.
The blues rallied to a comfortable two nil win in the first half courtesy of goals from Romelu Lukkaku; the Belgian scoring a brace in a league match for the first time since September.
Wolves came back strong in the second half with goals from and a 97th minute equalizer by skipper Conor Coady. A result that puts Chelsea’s Champions League qualifications in jeopardy.

Arsenal beat Leeds United

The gunners continued their match towards champions league football next season with a home win over Leeds United. Former Leeds striker Eddie Nketiah got a brace in the first half before Diego Llorente halving the deficit.
Leeds finished the game with ten men after Luke Ayling was sent off for a rash tackle in the first half. The Result means Arsenal FC are now one point behind Chelsea who drew against Wolves. But as for Leeds, the defeat means they’re now 18th on the Premier League table.
Result: Arsenal 2-1 Leeds United.

Watford relegated

No one wants to hear that statement about his club but Watford have joined Norwich City as one of the teams that will be playing Championship football next season. Their status was confirmed when they lost to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Hornets have now lost 25 games in the EPL this season – more than any other team and are the sixth club in Premier League history to be relegated at least four times.

Seria A

Ac Milan ran out 3-1 winners against Hellas Verona on the road with Inter defeating Torino 4-2 in a 6 – goal thriller.
Napoli and Lazio also won with Juventus losing to Genoa. Milan are top with 80 points closely followed by defending Champions Inter with 78 points.
With only two games left to complete the season, a league win for AC Milan will be their first Scudetto since 2011.

La Liga

With Real Madrid already crowned Champions of the league, cross town rivals Atletico Madrid beat them by a goal to nil with FC Barcelona beating Copa Del Rey winners, Real Betis at the Estadio De la Ceramica.Villarreal and Sevilla played out a one-all draw on Sunday.

Bundesliga

Champions League football is the bone of contention here after Bayern Munich claimed the title.
Second placed Borrusia Dortmund beat Greuther Furth 1-3 while Bayer Leverkusen who are five points behind Dortmund also recorded an impressive 4-2 win away to Hoffeinheim.
