FOOTBALL: Hosts Potiskum FC Fall 1-2 To Buratai Academy In Friendly Match

Sports Correspondent

In spite of playing one man down after a player was handed red card in the 60th minute, T.Y. Buratai Academy showed superiority over hosts, Potiskum Academy in a friendly matched played.

The first goal came in the 17th minute, courtesy of a brilliant shot on target by Buratai Academy’s Brother Nguru.

The visitors increased the tally close to half time in the 40th minute, when a goal mouth melee saw the hosts conceding an own goal.

Potiskum struggled to score with no results, but we’re able to convert a penalty on the 81st minute, off the heels of Abbati, who pulled one back.

Further attempts by both teams in their opponents areas, proved abortive as the centre referee blew the last whistle with scoreline showing 1-2 in favour of the visitors.

Our correspondent gathered that T.Y. Buratai Football Academy will play three more matches within the next two days, against Bade Academy and Jajimaji Academy FC, all in Potiskum.

The friendly matched are aimed at prepping the Buratai Boys in preparation to join the Nationwide League 1 Division 2 which will start on May 21, 2022.
