FG Pledges To Take Maintenance Serious, As China Delivers More Coaches

The Minister of Transportation, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, has said that the Federal Government will be more serious in the maintenance and sustainability of the new trains from China.
“I have seen some comments here on maintenance & sustainability of the new trains. We are taking that issue seriously & have made plans for it”, the minister noted.
Rt. Hon Amaechi said the Federal Government of Nigeria received two motored cars and four Locomotives and would soon be in Nigeria, as work is ongoing on the second batch of trains.
He also said that some Nigerians are already in training at China.
“One of the many things we are doing is that we have sent Nigerians to China for training and to understudy the Chinese manufacturers.
“After their training, the plan is to have these Nigerians run & maintain the trains and our rail lines.
“I met some of them in China on Wednesday and they are very eager to come back home to manage and maintain the new facilities and trains Building”. He said.
