After a 90-day voluntary suspension, Max Air has been cleared to resume its domestic flight operations, effective March 17, 2025. This decision was made by the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), after the airline successfully completed a rigorous safety and economic audit.

According to Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, “The safety audit was conducted from February 26 to 28, 2025, and the results confirm Max Air’s capacity to sustain safe flight operations.”

The NCAA will continue to closely monitor Max Air through an enhanced surveillance program to ensure strict compliance with its regulations. “The Authority remains committed to ensuring that all airlines adhere to the highest safety standards for the continued well-being of the aviation industry,” Achimugu stated.

Max Air’s resumption of domestic flights is expected to provide relief to passengers who have been affected by the suspension. The airline’s commitment to safety and its successful completion of the audit demonstrate its dedication to providing secure and reliable air travel services.

As Max Air returns to the skies, the NCAA will maintain its vigilance to ensure that the airline continues to meet the highest safety standards.
