EKITI GUBER ELECTION: INEC To Hold Stakeholders Meeting, Distributes Press Kits to the Media.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is currently fine tuning modalities for a hitch-free governorship election in Ekiti state.

Aside deployment of staff and dispatch of non-sensitive electoral materials, the Commission has also lined up series of engagement with major contenders and the voting populace.

On Tuesday, the Commission will hold a Stakeholders Meeting in Ado-Ekiti with all the candidates, political parties, the police, traditional rulers and other players in Ekiti state affairs. There after, all the contenders will then commit to a rancor free polling by endorsing a peace accord on Thursday.

The Deputy Director, Public Affairs, INEC Headquarters, Abuja, Chinwe Ogbuka, explains the essence of the Stakeholders meeting to correspondent Philip Nwelih.

Meanwhile, INEC has commenced the distribution of press kits to all accredited media organizations ahead of this Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti state.

At the close of applications for the Election on the 7th of June, 2022, only 94 media organisations applied for 589 staff to be accredited and were approved for nomination on our portal.

72 organizations later completed the process for 483 media personnel.
