FOOTBALL: Super Eagles Wallops Sao Tome

The Nigeria National Football Team, Super Eagles were irresistible in the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nation qualifier played in Agadir, Morocco on Monday as they walloped their counterparts from Sao Tome and Principe 10-0.

The Eagles wasted no time in asserting their superiority in the game after Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen got the first goal in the ninth minute. Osimhen then added three more goals in the second half to get his quadruple.

Lorient striker, Terem Moffi got in on the fest as he registered a brace for the Super Eagles on the night.

Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis were also among the goals.

This was the Eagles’ biggest scoreline in 63 years as theast time they had a scoreline of this sizewas a 10-1 win against the Squirrels of Benin Republic in 1959 at the Kwame Nkrumah Cup.

As for Osimhen, his quadruple has seen him become the top scorer in the qualifiers with five goals from two games and has also now scored 15 goals in 22 appearances for Nigeria.

The Super Eagles will face the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their next game in the AFCON qualifiers in September.
