ECO-TOURISM: Stakeholders call for revamping of Nigeria’s tourism sector

The need to be intentional in driving the economy using domestic and eco-tourism motivated strategies has been underscored. The chairman organizing committee, national conference for domestic and eco-tourism exhibition in Nigeria Dr Obinna Onyeocha made the call at the second edition of the conference in Abuja.

The theme of this year’s conference is Reviving the domestic tourism in Nigeria: encouraging inbound tourism, empowering personnel. in his speech,the chairman said the effect of COVID-19 in the Nigerian tourism sector is still obvious though operators are struggling to stand to their feet. According to him the question is ” when will Nigeria tourism products start attracting international interest”?

“Not overlooking the conservation of nature, plants, heights, hills, animals and surrounding is paramount in the rebranding bid of the Nigeria Tourism product.’ he added.
