Cross River State Command, NDLEA goes spiritual

Ahead of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, June 26, 2022, the officers and men of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ikom Area Command lined up series of events to commemorate the day.

June 26 is an annual event globally marked to assess progress made in drug control and fashion out a better strategy forward had it theme this year.
The theme: ‘Addressing Drug challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises’ was thoroughly explained through a Press Release by the Chairman/Chief Executive, Briag. Gen. Buba Marwa(rtd), OFR.

One of the activities on the programme today was Jumat Prayer Service at the Central Mosque Ikom on Thursday, June 24, 2022,

The Mosque was filled to the brim and the Chief Imam conducted the prayers and introduced NDLEA and her activities to celebrate June 26.

A brief lecture was delivered by ACN Sani, the Officer-in-Charge , Mfum Border and the senior officer drew the attention of worshipers on the implications of substance abuse explaining the implications on three phases : physical, social and psychological.

The Agency decided to go spiritual to receive blessings from God to help achieve the Agency goal.

The State Commander Mausel Kupi Bako who was represented by the Area Commander Ikom Area Command, Odili Kenneth thanked the Imam and his team for organizing the worshipers.

Furthermore, the public was advised to take issue of drug serious and watch out for signs of red flag of drug abuse on their children and always provide information to the Agency to enable her serve them better.
