CACOVID Contributions Hit 25.8 Billion Naira With Donations As Low As 1 Naira

Cash contributions to the account set up at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the auspices of the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) have hit N25 Billion as donors contributing as low as one naira.

In a statement released on behalf of the Coalition by the Director, Corporate Communications, Central Bank of Nigeria, Isaac Okoroafor, on Friday, April 17, 2020, presented a list of 107 donors, including individuals, banks and other corporate bodies who donated between 2 billion Naira and 1 Naira

According to Mr Okoroafor, the total figure of the relief fund as at Friday is N25, 893,699,791.00, and donations from as high as N2 billion to as low as N1.00.

“The coalition hereby conveys its gratitude to all the institutions and individuals that have generously donated to this fund

“We urge others to consider contributing to this national solidarity to provide not only medical equipment and materials but also to render urgently needed palliatives to the poor and vulnerable segments of our society.

“We hereby restate our commitment to full disclosure and accountability for all donations made. God bless us all” Mr Okoroafor concluded.
