Bangladeshi film ‘Ontorjatra’ thrills participants at Asian Film Festival in Nigeria

Participants at the third Asian Film Festival held in Abuja from 23-26 January 2020,were thrilled by Bangladesh film, ‘Ontojatra’.

অন্তর্যাত্রা (ONTORJATRA) directed by celebrated film-makers Tareque Masud and Catherine Masud was screened On the inaugural day, with eight Asian countries participating.

Nigerian dignitaries, Ambassadors/­diplomats, members of the civil society, cine-lovers, activists of cultural organizations, among others, were in attendance. Mr. Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, Director General, National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC) of Nigeria was the Guest of Honour.

The Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja expresses appreciation to participants especially the Embassies of Iran and Syria, Special guests for their support. The Mission acknowledges the contribution of Ms Catherine Masud for sharing the digital version of the film which ensured best quality and high resolution; Ministry of Information, Government of Bangladesh for sending films for screening at the Festivals(2019,2020)­.

The initiative is a part of the Mission’s Public Diplomacy drive to familiarize and positively brand Bangladesh to the wider audience of Nigeria.
