The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, which claimed the lives of military personnel, family members and crew members.

The ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, in a condolence message, commiserated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the bereaved families and Nigerians over the tragic incident.

Obegolu described the crash as a painful loss to the nation, noting that the deaths of military personnel and their family members had further deepened the grief arising from the unfortunate incident.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, particularly the loved ones of the military personnel who lost their lives, and prayed that God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The ACCI President also commended the relevant authorities and emergency responders for their efforts following the crash, while calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to him, establishing the cause of the crash would be critical to preventing a recurrence and strengthening safety measures.

Obegolu urged Nigerians to continue to keep the bereaved families, the Armed Forces and the nation in their prayers during the difficult period.

He stressed that the loss of lives was a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by members of Nigeria’s security forces and their families in the service of the country.
