TCN Schedules Maintenance on Ikeja West-Ejigbo Transmission Line, 40MW Load to Be Affected

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise on the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 1, which is expected to interrupt approximately 40 megawatts (MW) of electricity supply at the Ejigbo Transmission Substation.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, TCN said the maintenance would take place at the Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Substation between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The company explained that the exercise was necessary to enable its maintenance crew to carry out routine maintenance on the transmission line.
According to TCN, the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 2 would also be taken out of service during the period to provide a safe working environment for the maintenance personnel.
The company, however, disclosed that the Airport load would be diverted to the Isolo Transmission Line to minimise the impact of the planned outage.
TCN apologised to customers of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) who might experience electricity supply disruptions during the maintenance period.
The company assured the public that the temporary outage was necessary to facilitate routine maintenance and ensure the safe operation of its transmission infrastructure.
The notice was signed by the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
