Chinese Consulate Honours NACCIMA DG Obadimu for Boosting Nigeria-China Trade

The Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos has honoured the Director-General of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. Sola Obadimu, for his contributions to strengthening Nigeria-China economic and trade relations.
Obadimu received the Friendship Contribution Award at the Chinese Consulate’s reception in Lagos to commemorate the 77th National Day of the People’s Republic of China.
The Consulate said Obadimu had demonstrated sustained commitment to deepening Nigeria-China relations since assuming office as NACCIMA Director-General in 2022.
It also commended NACCIMA for its role in facilitating engagement between the Nigerian government, the private sector, international investors and business partners.
According to the Consulate, Obadimu’s frequent visits to China and support for major business and exchange platforms had contributed to expanding commercial ties between the two countries.
“Through frequent visits to China and his active support for major exchange platforms, including the Lagos Forum, he has made valuable contributions to strengthening business exchanges and injecting fresh impetus into bilateral economic and trade relations,” the Consulate said.
The award was presented during the reception hosted by the outgoing Consul-General, Her Excellency Yan Yuqing.
The event attracted several government and business leaders, including the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Engr. Leye Kupoluyi; and LCCI Director-General, Dr. Chinyere Almona.
Also present was the Director of the Chinese Confucius Institute at the University of Lagos, Prof. Wu Shuang, among other dignitaries.
The recognition underscores the growing role of business organisations such as NACCIMA in promoting private-sector engagement, investment opportunities and trade cooperation between Nigeria and China.
