Christians across Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt are expected to participate in a three-day Church and Nation Dialogue aimed at examining Nigeria’s current challenges and exploring pathways towards national renewal.
The dialogue, scheduled for October 18 to 20, 2026, will focus on the theme, “Nigeria: Between Peril and Promise,” with Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi as the keynote speaker.
The organisers said the programme would provide an opportunity for church leaders, young people, professionals, families and other citizens to engage in critical discussions on the future of the country.
According to the organisers, Nigeria is at a defining crossroads, requiring more than political arrangements to address the challenges confronting the nation.
They said the country’s survival and development require a shared moral vision, ethical leadership and a renewed sense of national responsibility.
The dialogue is expected to examine Nigeria’s constitutional foundations and contemporary challenges, including insecurity, injustice, corruption and national fragmentation.
Participants are also expected to consider the prospects for national unity, responsible citizenship and renewal, particularly from a faith-based perspective.
The organisers described the gathering as an important conversation on “the Nigeria we have, the Nigeria we desire, and the Nigeria we must build,” urging Christians and other citizens across the Middle Belt to participate actively.
They said the future of Nigeria requires the collective voice, responsibility and commitment of its citizens, stressing the need for constructive engagement on issues affecting the nation.
