The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed ₦3.82 billion in accrued pension arrears to 30,356 pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
The Directorate disclosed that a total of ₦3,817,568,592.80 was paid to affected pensioners across the Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD), Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department (DTAPD), and Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department (TEHPD).
According to PTAD, the payment represents arrears arising from its Back-End Computation (BEC) Review Exercise, which was undertaken to address complaints relating to pension computations and outstanding entitlements of DBS pensioners.
The Directorate said the latest disbursement underscores its continued efforts to settle verified outstanding pension obligations and improve the welfare of pensioners under its mandate.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Secretary of PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya, expressed appreciation to the affected pensioners for their cooperation throughout the review process.
Odunaiya reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to ensuring the timely, transparent and accountable payment of verified pension entitlements.
She said the payment also reflected the commitment of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to addressing pension-related challenges and strengthening pension administration under the Defined Benefit Scheme.
PTAD further assured DBS pensioners of its continued engagement with them, prompt resolution of pension-related complaints and improved delivery of efficient, transparent and accountable pension administration.
