FCC Chairman Hails Tinubu’s Extension of Customs CG Adeniyi’s Tenure

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the decision as a recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to national service.

In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, Omidiran said the tenure extension reflects the confidence reposed in Adeniyi’s ability to sustain ongoing reforms, strengthen institutional efficiency and advance the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.

According to her, the Customs boss has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and professionalism, leading to significant improvements in revenue generation, trade facilitation, transparency and border security.
“The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and the remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship of the Nigeria Customs Service. Your commitment to reforms, accountability and service delivery has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and stakeholders,” she stated.

The FCC Chairman noted that the achievements recorded under Adeniyi’s leadership have contributed positively to Nigeria’s economic growth and the protection of national interests.

She also highlighted the critical role of the Nigeria Customs Service in supporting government policies, facilitating legitimate trade and promoting economic stability through efficient operations and innovation.
Omidiran expressed confidence that the Customs Service would continue to record greater successes under Adeniyi’s renewed tenure.
“As you commence this renewed phase of your service, I wish you greater wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance. May your extended tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria,” she said.
