The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria (APPMEN) has paid glowing tribute to fathers in Nigeria’s media industry, describing them as unsung heroes who combine the responsibilities of raising families with the demanding task of keeping the public informed.

In a statement issued on Sunday to mark Father’s Day 2026, APPMEN National Coordinator, Chief Precious Enebuse, praised media proprietors, broadcasters, publishers, and digital platform operators for their dedication to both family and professional duties despite the challenges facing the industry.

According to the association, fathers in the media sector play a dual role as caregivers at home and custodians of truth in society, often balancing newsroom deadlines, business pressures, and parental responsibilities.

APPMEN noted that many media entrepreneurs continue to invest in journalism, mentor young professionals, and sustain media organizations under difficult economic conditions, contributing significantly to democratic development and public enlightenment.

The association particularly recognized media owners who prioritize staff welfare, community broadcasters who keep local voices alive, and veteran publishers whose institutions have served generations of Nigerians.

“Your work informs Nigeria, while your fatherhood helps build the nation’s future,” the statement said, emphasizing that the sacrifices made by fathers in the media industry deserve recognition and appreciation.

APPMEN also offered prayers for the continued health, strength, and prosperity of fathers and father figures within the association and across the Nigerian media landscape, expressing hope that their media organizations would continue to thrive.

The association concluded by wishing all fathers in the media industry a happy Father’s Day and commending their enduring contributions to both their families and the nation.

APPMEN SALUTES FATHERS IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY ON FATHER’S DAY 2026

Abuja, Nigeria – Sunday, June 21, 2026:

On this Father’s Day 2026, the Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria, APPMEN, celebrates a special breed of heroes – Fathers in the Media Industry.

To every APPMEN member who runs a radio station before sunrise, prints newspapers late into the night, manages a TV station through power cuts, or runs a digital platform while putting children through school – we see your double sacrifice.

You are fathers at home and fathers of truth in the public space. You balance deadlines with school fees, breaking news with bedtime stories, editorial responsibility with parental duty. You shape public opinion by day, and shape young minds by night.

The media industry is demanding. Yet you show up. You invest. You mentor young journalists. You build institutions that inform democracy, even when the business is tough. That is fatherhood in action.

APPMEN honors the father who pays staff salaries before his own, the mother-father who runs a community radio in her husband’s absence, and the grandfather who founded the newspaper that still speaks for his town today.

Your work informs Nigeria. Your fatherhood builds Nigeria.

Today we pray for strength, health, and prosperity for all fathers and father-figures in our Association. May your media houses flourish. May your children honor your legacy.

Happy Father’s Day to all APPMEN fathers and fathers in the media industry across Nigeria.

We celebrate you today and always.

Signed,
Chief Precious Enebuse,
National Coordinator
Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria (APPMEN)
