The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has commenced its 2026 Management Retreat, with a renewed focus on consolidating recent achievements and institutionalising sustainable growth across the nation’s airport system.
Declaring the three-day retreat open on Friday, Managing Director and Chief Executive of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, said the gathering was designed to strengthen the Authority’s transformation agenda and position it for future growth in line with global aviation trends and industry best practices.
The retreat, themed “Consolidating Gains and Institutionalizing Sustainable Growth,” brings together FAAN’s senior management team to assess progress made in the organisation’s reform efforts, enhance institutional capacity, and align strategic priorities with evolving developments in the aviation sector.
Discussions on the opening day centred on positioning FAAN for long-term success through sustained reforms, examining airport development trends across Africa and the global aviation industry, and improving process standardisation and performance management throughout Nigeria’s airports.
Participants also explored strategies for accelerating infrastructure modernisation, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening service delivery across FAAN-managed facilities.
A key feature of the session was a comprehensive review of achievements recorded under the management’s transformation agenda. The review focused on embedding sustainable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and value creation across the Authority’s airport network.
FAAN said the retreat will serve as a platform for developing actionable strategies aimed at enhancing the Authority’s competitiveness, improving passenger experience, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure.
The retreat is expected to conclude with resolutions and policy directions that will guide FAAN’s operations and development priorities in the years ahead.
Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, issued the statement on behalf of the Authority.
