“Every Mission Must Count,” CAS Tells Commanders in Renewed Push Against Insurgency

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has charged commanders of the Nigerian Air Force to intensify operational pressure on insurgents and criminal elements across the country, insisting that every mission must achieve decisive results.
Speaking during an operational briefing held on May 18, 2026, with Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Directors and Air Component Commanders from various theatres of operation, the CAS emphasized the need for continuous evaluation and reassessment of operational strategies to enhance mission effectiveness.
Air Marshal Aneke stressed that all operations must deliver measurable impact against hostile elements while maintaining professionalism and precision to safeguard civilian lives.
The briefing forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Air Force to strengthen mission readiness and reinforce air power operations in support of national security and counterinsurgency efforts across the country.
