Sapphire Nigeria Celebrates International Women’s Day with Skill Acquisition Program to Build Future Female Leaders

Sapphire Nigeria marked this year’s International Women’s Day with an inspiring event focused on empowering women through skill acquisition and leadership development. The program brought together women from different backgrounds to learn practical skills, gain mentorship, and build confidence to become leaders of tomorrow.

The event, organized as part of Sapphire Nigeria’s commitment to women empowerment, featured training sessions designed to equip participants with valuable skills that can enhance their economic independence and professional growth. Facilitators and guest speakers shared insights on entrepreneurship, personal development, and leadership, encouraging participants to take bold steps toward achieving their goals.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Sapphire Nigeria, Jasmine Cannon-IKURUSI emphasized the importance of investing in women and creating opportunities that enable them to thrive in society. They noted that empowering women through education, mentorship, and skills training is essential for building stronger communities and sustainable development.

Jasmine reinterprets this year’s theme “Give to Gaie” as “Give to Give”, focusing on empowering women to realize their potential. Kersey urges governments to collaborate with NGOs and do more to create change, celebrating women’s worth, value, and greatness. She encourages women to arise, fulfill their purpose, and become future leaders, saying “Happy International Women’s Day” to all women.

Participants also engaged in interactive sessions where they learned practical techniques, shared experiences, and built networks that will support their personal and professional journeys.
The initiative aligns with the global theme of International Women’s Day, which calls for greater inclusion, equality, and opportunities for women across all sectors. Sapphire Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to continuing programs that support women’s growth and leadership.
