ACCI International Trade Fair 2025: NPA Boss Highlights Trade Facilitation Efforts

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, has emphasized the importance of trade facilitation in driving economic growth. Speaking at the Abuja International Trade Fair, Dantsoho highlighted the NPA’s efforts to simplify export processes and enhance port-hinterland connectivity.

According to the Managing Director, who was represented by Mrs Maryam O. Suleiman, Acting General Manager,
NPA, Abuja Liaison Office the NPA has established Export Process Terminals (EPTs), to reduce the complexity of exporting Nigerian goods.

EPTs have been structured to work seamlessly with Domestic Export Warehouses (DEWs) and Inland Dry Ports to facilitate trade.

The NPA is implementing the National Single Window (NSW), to eliminate opacity and delays in trade transactions.

The NPA said the Authority is open to partnerships with stakeholders to drive economic growth.

The MD listed various initiatives that has been implemented to support trade facilitation which include:
– A singular transaction gateway for seamless interaction among stakeholders.
– The NPA aims to connect local value producers with international clusters of demand for their goods.

The NPA’s efforts aim to promote economic growth, increase trade volumes, and enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global market.
