YELITUDE: Women Urged To Reach Out To Less Privileged during the season

Despite the many challenges that 2020 has been characterised by, women have been called on to reach out to the less privileged this Christmas season.

The Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Barr. Mary Ekpere-Eta, in her Christmas message urged that women offer hands of assistance to those in lack this season. She opined that though the year has been a tough one for many families because of the economic downturn owing to Covid-19 pandemic, the less privileged should not be forgotten.

“That 2020 was a difficult year for many is stating the obvious. Despite this, I urge that women as managers of the home find means of reaching out beyond their families to those who don’t have much to celebrate Christmas with”, the statement read.

Ekpere-Eta also commended women for their resourcefulness in a year that people in Nigeria, like other countries struggled to make ends meet. “Nigerian women deserve commendation she noted.

This year the NCWD Boss has empowered women from different parts of the country through training, work tools and grants.
