The Presidential Hopeful of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo has launched a scathing attack on public office holders and their role in impoverishing the citizens.

Prince Adebayo, who was responding to the question of how important population census is for the planning proper development programmes in the country said the theft of oil has robbed the country of development.

In his words: “Gross Domestic Product per Capita is not a reason to be afraid of population growth or size of the citizenry as the country is abundantly blessed to cater for the citizens”.

“On the issue of GDP per Capita improvement, a government can start from giving the people access to good food, quality education, healthcare and housing. This will help the populace to focus on their God given talents and by extension, improve the country “.

He also added that the development of the country is hinged on the social investments made by the government.

“You cannot make adequate investments in the country when the resources are being pillaged by public officers and the government is borrowing money for the basic running of the government”. He said
“We have to plug the holes created by stealing because that is how we can have money in the reserve which will help us invest adequately in the development of the country”.

Prince Adebayo then outlined the categories of investment he will make if he is elected into office. Education, healthcare, housing and active participation in the economy by way of job creation.
