TCN Launches Anti-Corruption Policy, Reaffirms Zero Tolerance for Corrupt Practices

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability, integrity and ethical conduct across the organisation.
The document was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the policy as a significant step towards strengthening the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.
Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on what it achieved but also on how it achieved its objectives.
He therefore urged staff to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the policy and apply its principles in their daily decisions and official responsibilities.
The TCN chief executive commended the ACTU and others who contributed to the development of the document, noting that its purpose went beyond preventing corruption to fostering a culture of honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.
He called on staff to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling was more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability within the company.
Benibo noted that corruption weakens institutions, undermines public trust and leads to the wastage of valuable resources, stressing that combating corrupt practices required the commitment of every member of staff.
Also speaking, the representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, presented an overview of the policies.
Ifeajika highlighted the importance of the document in influencing staff conduct, guiding institutional decisions and strengthening internal systems.
She explained that the policies provide guidance on the prevention, detection, reporting and response to unethical and corrupt practices.
The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which TCN said would serve as a framework for reinforcing ethical standards and accountability across the company.
