TCN Advances Restoration of Kainji–Birnin Kebbi 330kV Transmission Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has recorded significant progress in the ongoing rehabilitation of the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line following the recent collapse of Tower T367 along the line corridor in Yauri.

According to TCN, restoration activities at the affected location have progressed to an advanced stage, with the collapsed transmission tower completely dismantled and decommissioned.

The company said the conductors and skywire have also been properly aligned and prepared for the next phase of the restoration exercise.

TCN disclosed that an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower has been moved to the site and is ready for installation.

The installation of the ERS tower will be followed by cable stringing and other associated works required to restore the affected transmission line.

The company said its engineers and technical personnel remain fully engaged at the site and are working to complete the restoration as quickly as possible.

TCN assured electricity consumers and other stakeholders affected by the incident that every effort is being made to restore the transmission line and normal bulk power transmission as soon as possible.

The company also expressed appreciation to consumers and stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the restoration process.
