FOOTBALL: Round up of European matches Serie A: Milan beat Genoa on Friday

It was the first game of the weekend in the Serie A as Rafael Leão and Junior Messias scored in both halves to give AC Milan a 2-0 win to strengthen their hold at the top of the log.

Milan are two points clear of Inter though the latter has a game in hand but the Rossonerri would love to win their first scudetto since 2011.

Inter thrash Spezia
The race for the Scudetto is becoming more interesting as only two points separates the two Milan sides.
Inter won comfortably on the road against Spezia courtesy of goals from Marcel Brozovic, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez as the game ended 1-3.
Inter still have a game to play and a win will see them leapfrog their City rivals putting them towards defending their title.

Hapless Juve draw against Bologna
Juventus couldn’t capitalize on their numerical advantage to beat Bologna in the Serie A on Saturday.

Marko Arnautovic put the away side ahead in the 52nd minute but two quick red cards to Soumaoro and Gary Medel saw Bologna finish the match with 9 men before Dusan Vlahovic scored in the 95th minute to earn a draw for the Old Ladies.
Napoli don’t play until Monday as they will be facing As Roma in a game that has a lot of bearings on Champions League qualifications and Scudetto.

Premier League: Trossard scores to put a dent in Tottenham’s aspirations
A late goal by Leandro Trossard at White Hart Lane put a dent in Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League hopes.
Spurs were lacklustre particularly in the second half and had no shot on target as they lost their first game at home to Brighton in 45 years.

Arsenal fails to capitalize on Spurs’ slip
A lone goal by Jannick Bednarek was all Southampton needed to beat Arsenal at the Saint Mary’s Stadium.The race for the top four is heating up and the gunners keep slipping.

This is the Gunners’ third defeat on the trot.

Cristiano Ronaldo was on fire as he scored a hat trick to give United a win against a spirited Norwich side.
It was his 60th hattrick for club and country as the Red Devils rallied to a 3-2 victory to give themselves a chance to qualify for champions league next season.

FA Cup: Liverpool increase chances of a quadruple
Sadio Mane was the star of the night when Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 in the FA Cup semi- final at Wembley on Saturday.
Pep Guadiola dropped some high profile players in the match but still put in a strong team. Liverpool wasted no time as they got 3 goals at half time with the Senegalese getting two of them.
A late surge by city who got two goals in the second half wasn’t enough to stop the Reds who are now in the finals of the competition

Chelsea beat Palace to set up final with Liverpool
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount both scored to give Chelsea a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup at Wembley.
The win sees the blues face Liverpool again in a final this season after they had played the Reds in the EFL Cup final which Liverpool eventually won.

Bundesliga: Dortmund and Bayern both win win emphatically
Borussia Dortmund thumped Vfl Wolfsburg 6-1 as Tom Rothe, Axel Witsel, Manuel Akanji, Emre Can and Erling Braut Haaland with a brace all scored.
Dortmund stay second in the table, and are nine points behind Bayern Munich.
It”s the second time Dortmund have scored six goals in less than two months.

Bayern Munich put their champions league disappointments aside as they dispatched Armenia Bielefeld 3-0 courtesy of an own goal by J. Laursen, Serge Gnabry and J. Musiala as the Bavarians go 9 points clear at the top.

In the four months since Domenico Tedesco took over, RB Leipzig have gone from 11th in the Bundesliga (18 points from 14 games) to 3rd (54 points from 30 games).

La Liga: Madrid stage a spirited comeback
Karim Benzema scored a late goal to see Real Madrid C.F. come from two goals down to beat Sevilla FC at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the la Liga and strengthen their stranglehold on the title.
Ivan Rakitic and Eric Lamela had scored in the first half to give Sevilla a two nil lead but as it happened earlier in the week against Chelsea, Rodrygo and Nacho both scored before the man of the moment, Benzema scored his 25th La Liga goal of the season to give the white angels a 3-2 win.

Ligue 1: PSG hang on to best Marseille
Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe both scored to give Paris St German a 2-1 win over second-placed Marseille.
The win sees the Parisians go 15 points clear at the top of the table over bitter rivals Marseille
