Rise in kidnapping is due to crave for quick money- Fmr Police Chief Alobi

The former commissioner of police, Compol (Barr.) Lawrence Alobi, has said that the issue of kidnapping along Kaduna-Abuja express way is on the increase and this is as a result of the crave for quick money in the society,  caused by unemployment, lack of good values, poverty and other social factors.
Alobi, who is the CEO of Hi Tech Security services and training Limited, decried the high level of get rich quick syndrome and said “In the society of today, the people are just conscious of material things, on the fast lane and other vices that can earn them quick money.”
He noted that controlling crime  in Nigeria is declining as the police are not motivated and well equipped due to lack of funding,  “no enough patrol vehicles, no good or sophisticated  weapons that can help for patrol in other to do their job well.”
On human capacity he said “The policemen are overstretched, there is nothing to  motivate them, policing in Nigeria is on the decline therefore the appropriate authority is employed to rise up and defend the country.”
Recently there have been an increased rate of kidnapping in the Abuja- Kaduna highway, though there are reports that the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force is collaborating with other security agencies to check mate the criminals.
