President Ramaphosa Expresses Grief at the Mass Funeral Service of the 21 teenagers

President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed the grief of the nation at the mass funeral service of the 21 teenagers who tragically passed away on 26 June 2022 in the Eastern Cape province.

The President joined several leaders from all spheres of government in comforting the families at the Scenery Park Sports Field in East London.

The President described this tragedy as a loss of talented intrinsic souls whose lives were short-lived and the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute in building their communities in various fields denied.

President Ramaphosa called for communities to unite and organise safe and age-appropriate recreational and social activities to avert the youth from dangerous places.
