POLICE LOSSES INSPECTOR, 6 OTHERS IN EXTREME GUN DUEL WITH BANDITS IN KATSINA..As Bandits Set Clinic Ablazep

POLICE authority in Katsina State said bandits had a fierce gun battle with the mobile policemen deployed to Zandam village, Jibia LGA of the state, where a Police inspector and 6 others killed in the process.

The bandits in a large number, armed with sophisticated weapons on motorcycles, were on Sunday, invaded the village.

“At the scene it was discovered that three(3) residents (all Male) were shot and killed by the hoodlums while five (5) others sustained injuries.

“The team succeeded and gunned down three (3) of the Armed Bandits. One Inspector of police gallantly lost his life during the encounter”.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah said an uncompleted clinic block was set ablaze by the hoodlums.

According to him, “Police reinforcement were deployed to the area and injured persons were given first Aid and moved to General Hospital. Investigation in progress with a view to track down the fleeing hoodlums,”, he said.
