NSCDC Boss Tasks Zonal And State Commands On Hitch-free Yuletide Period

… Calls For Round-the-Clock Visibility Patrols on Government Critical Infrastructure and others

Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, has ordered Zonal Commanders and Commandants in charge of all the 36 state Commands and Federal Capital Territory to redouble efforts in tightening security measures to ensure hitch-free yuletide season.

Also, the NSCDC helmsman has stressed the need for renewed monitoring and supervision by the concerned officers, stating that Area Commanders and Divisional Officers as well as those in Charge of Cells to ensure zero tolerance to criminalities within their domains.

In obeying the order to the latter, proper checks and accountability must be enforced in a hierarchical order and nothing short of it will be condoned, the CG stated.

The CG added that there should be renewed vigour to maintain law and order in synergy with sister agencies.

All efforts must be made in the protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

There should be searchlights on our oil and power installations, railways, roads and bridges as well as schools to prevent them from being vandalized and or attacked by criminal elements whose plot is to sabotage the country’s effort to greatness.

Component Commanders in Joint Security Operations together with Commanders of Special Squads are also by this directive further mandated to prevail on their subordinates for the full implementation of the order while stressing that it is mandatory.

In the same vain, those charged with covert operations should leave no stone unturned to ensure that all suspected black spots in every nook and cranny of the country are placed under strict surveillance.

While surveillance is to be redoubled before and after this Yuletide, the CG has also directed increased vehicular and foot patrols in all the 774 Local Government Areas across the federation to ensure the physical security of officers and men of the Corps.
