NIS COMMISSIONS FORWARD OPERATION BASE(FOB), AT BELEL, ADAMAWA STATE

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede MFR, yesterday 12th February 2021, commissioned another Forward Operation Base at Belel in Adamawa State.

NIS Spokesperson, DCI S James stated that it is in an effort to continue covering border areas that were taken over by irregular migrants.

He further stated that CGI Babandede has been committed to ensuring air tight border patrol and migration control around the Nigeria’s borders by establishing 15 Forward Operation Bases including the one commissioned today at Belel in Adamawa State.

The Chairman of Maiha Local Government, Alhaji Idi Amin, commended the Comptroller General for his visionary and transformational leadership resulting in the massive infrastructures across the NIS formations aimed at improving the welfare and conditions of work of the officers.

Alh.Idi Amin, a former Immigration officer, was quick to observe the drastic changes witnessed in NIS service delivery to the public in such a short period that Babandede was appointed with accolades from within and outside the country.

CGI Babandede thanked the dignitaries that graced the occasion especially the Representative of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support, the Chairman Maiha Local Government, Alhaji Idi Amin, the Emir of Mubi, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu and the Damburram Mubi Chief of Belel for accommodating the operatives.

The Comptroller General reiterated his commitment to visiting every location where the NIS formations are located to feel their pulse and address issues personally not delegating anyone. “It is my duty to visit my operatives wherever they are stationed as a sign of good leadership” he said.
