Nigeria Storm into CAVB U-18 African Volleyball Championship Final with Dominant Unbeaten Run

Nigeria’s boys’ team has secured a place in the final of the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, after defeating Cameroon 3-0 in a commanding semi-final performance.
The Nigerian side overwhelmed their Central African opponents with set scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-19, extending an impressive unbeaten run and reinforcing their status as one of the tournament’s standout teams.
The victory marked Nigeria’s fifth consecutive win in the competition and capped a remarkable campaign in which the team has lost only one set en route to the final.
Nigeria began the championship with a flawless Group A campaign, opening with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Morocco before defeating host nation Egypt 3-1 in a highly competitive encounter. The team completed the group stage with another straight-sets win over Burundi.
The momentum continued into the knockout phase as Nigeria comfortably swept aside Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals before producing another dominant display against Cameroon in the last four.
Throughout the tournament, the Nigerian youngsters have impressed with their powerful attacking play, disciplined defence and consistent serving, qualities that have seen them concede just one set in five matches.
The outstanding run underlines the growing strength of Nigeria’s youth volleyball programme and highlights the emergence of another generation of talented players capable of competing at the highest level on the continent.
Nigeria will now face the final hurdle in Alexandria, aiming to complete a perfect campaign and be crowned champions of the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Nations Volleyball Championship.
